Goldman Sachs Chief Economist Jan Hatzius' 2014 Outlooks

| |
Goldman's chief economist Jan Hatzius thinks U.S. economic growth will accelerate in 2014, emerging market economies will remain soft, and U.S. inflation will be below the Fed's target through 2015 (Fed remains accommodative).

We expect a relatively late first hike for the federal funds rate in early 2016. That puts us towards the late end of the spectrum if you look at other forecasts. The key reason for this is that we think growth is going to get better, but the level of output and employment is still quite far below potential.

The S&P 500 has already figured this out I think. Watch videos below courtesy of Goldman Sachs.
