On Bloomberg TV today, Brookings Institute's Elizabeth Kneebone said:

"Between 2000 and 2012, the poor population living in the suburbs of our major metro areas grew by 65%. That was the fastest pace of growth we saw across geography types in the country."

"For the first time, we now have more poor residents living in suburbs than cities."
