US: Senate votes to debate Obamacare repeal

The US Senate has narrowly voted to move ahead with a debate on the repeal of Obamacare.

The senators were split 50-50, leaving Vice President Mike Pence cast the deciding vote.

Republicans have been unable to reach a consensus on how to proceed, and it's unclear what, if anything, will replace the healthcare law.

A previous vote on repealing Obamacare did not pass.
