Kelly makes forceful statement in first day as WH Chief of Staff

John Kelly officially takes over as White House Chief of Staff Monday, tasked with bringing a more disciplined approach to a freewheeling White House.
On his first day on the job, John Kelly proving there's a new sheriff in town at the White House Monday, successfully pushing President Trump to remove White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci after only 10 days on the job.

Kelly spent the last six months leading the u.s. Department of Homeland Security. At DHS, Kelly has been at the forefront of Trump's efforts to crack down on illegal immigration, and plans to build a wall along the border with Mexico.

The former marine general moving into the West Wing to fill the office recently vacated by former chief-of-staff Reince Priebus, fired on Friday…a move expected to bring a measure of discipline to an administration plagued by in-fighting.

ONE BIG CHANGE - White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders saying ALL White House staff - from Steve Bannon to Kellyanne Conway to even Trump's daughter Ivanka - now answer to Kelly.

"General Kelly has the fully authority to carry out business as he sees fit."

Kelly has plenty on his plate - he steps in as there's tension between Trump and several of his top cabinet members-most notably Attorney General Jeff Sessions, but also Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster.

Trump also faces fallout from the failure of the effort to repeal and replace Obamacare…AND the world is on alert due to yet another missile test in North Korea
