Florida shelter animals flown to safety in Ohio

More than 160 cats and dogs from Florida animal shelters are flown away from Hurricane Irma to safety in Ohio where they'll be put up for adoption.


More than 160 cats and dogs from Florida were flown away from Hurricane Irma to safety in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday (September 8) night.

They arrived in boxes from animal shelters in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, where they would be in danger from the storm.

The animals will now be put up for adoption in Ohio.
