South Florida bears brunt of Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma has left a trail of destruction in Florida after ripping through the south of the US state. It has now been downgraded to a tropical storm, but forecasters say sea surges remain a threat.

Millions of people in Florida have been left without power and hundreds of thousands are in emergency shelters.
