How universal flu vaccines work

Every year, the World Health Organization decides what strains to put in the next year's flu vaccine. But they don’t always get it right, and sometimes the virus changes in the time between producing the vaccine and injecting it in your arm. One of the solutions researchers are working on is a universal vaccine. Dr. Matthew Miller from McMaster University explains how it would work.
